Soccer Through The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department

MPRD Announces Development Program for 2009-2010:
The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department created the developmental soccer program to provide further opportunity for participants to improve soccer skills in a fun atmosphere. The aim is to develop soccer skills that will be a foundation for the years ahead.
Program Objectives:

  • improve technical and motor skills
  • create an enjoyable practice atmosphere
  • provide qualified, experienced coaches – “striving to put the best coaches w/ the youngest players”
  • educate parents – coaching courses, email updates
    Program Directors:

  • David Jordan – played collegiate soccer at College of Charleston, US Soccer “A” License


Mount Pleasant Soccer Club

Mount Pleasant Soccer Club is an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation and South Carolina Youth Soccer Association.

 MPSC encompasses players from ages 5 to 18, FUNdamental, SCAP Recreational Soccer & Developmental Soccer. MPSC seeks to provide an enjoyable experience for every player.

 

South Carolina United FC Mount Pleasant

Starting in May 2010, Mount Pleasant Soccer Club Academy & Select programs will begin to operate as South Carolina United FC Mount Pleasant. All tournament information will now be hosted at www.scunitedmountpleasant.com.

 

MPSC also offers South Carolina United FC Mount Pleasant Junior Academy & Select programs for players interested in a more challenging environment. Information on the Junior Academy & Select program can be found online at www.scunitedmountpleasant.com

Ranked # 2 In The Country In The Final Rankings By NSCAA.

Wando Wins 2010 State Championship

The Wando girls soccer team won the 2010 South State Championship on May 21, 2010 after defeating Maudlin High School 2-1 in a penalty-kick out on the 22nd kick.

Wando finished the 2010 season with an amazing 26-0-1 record. They outscored their opponents 160-2. The warriors out shot Maudlin 23-8. They currently own the State Record in goals allowed – 2, number of shutouts in a season – 25 and scored a total of 160 goals for the season which is the third best in state history.
